Dave Wilbur, "the mane" El Jefe, Big Boss man of the Modern School of Music

Dave has over 19 years teaching experience, and over 25 years playing experience on the bass, guitar and piano/keyboards.

In his musical career, he has been a member of, or free-lanced for, reggae, progressive rock, pop, top 40, swing, salsa, country, folk, bluegrass, heavy metal, punk, be-bop, and big bands. If you can think of any other genre, he's probably had a chance to play it, too.  (Except death-polka.  He's still waiting on that call...)

At last count, more than 30 of Dave's students have gone on to receive college scholarships and awards and competitions from major universities such as California Institute for the Arts, Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, Berkeley College of Music in Boston, Bass Institute of Technology in LA, Ricks College, and many others.

In an unheard of six-year stint, from 1994 to 2000, for each of those years one of Dave's students was the Utah High School All-State Jazz bassist.  His students have also made the same band on guitar and keyboards (piano).

At least two of his former students have also gone on to major success in the recording industry, landing recording contracts and appearing in films.

Dave is director of the Modern School of Music, and the author of the Modern School of Music Method books for Guitar, Bass, and Piano, as well as the book "A New Approach To Music Theory (Dave's Bionic Diatonic Chart of Terror)".

Dave's prices are $30 per half hour lesson.
