Mitch was raised performing in a professional family band, which toured much of the U.S. until his teenage years.
He started teaching drums at age 15 and performing professionally at age 16.
He excelled in music from jr. high thru college, garnering much recognition (outstanding soloist awards, Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, Utah All-State Jazz Band, etc.).
He toured with BYU's Synthesis and can be heard on two of its albums.
Mitch has taught at Lakeridge Jr. High, Young Musicians Summer Camp, and BYU-Idaho. He currently teaches at Lone Peak High, Liahona Academy, Modern School of Music, and UVU.
He is one of Utah's first-call drummers, performing/recording often with a myriad of bands (Shaun Barrowes, Cheri Magill, SLC Jazz Orchestra, Utah Swing Orchestra, etc.).
He teaches students of all levels, assuring that each develops musical maturity through a rigorous focus on fundamentals and styles.
